[Brief Description]	Persistence makes everything possible! Two years ago, we started a project to design trim tabs that would enable real-time trimming of your boat from your transmitter whilst the boat was running. Trim tabs are a most important aid for any RC boat to perform optimally through different water conditions. However, traditional trim tabs are mostly designed for manual adjustment; the boat has to be brought ashore, the tabs adjusted, and the boat re-launched to try again. Often, this procedure has to be repeated a number of times to obtain the best result, and by then the water conditions could well have again changed. If so, you have to start once more to repeat the process until the boat’s performance meets your expectations. That is a very inconvenient and time-consuming process! How much better to be able to adjust the tabs while the boat is running so you can immediately see the effect and obtain the best running angle. Radio-controlled trim tabs achieve this goal and provide the best solution to what has been a long standing challenge! For over two years, we at Arrow Shark have worked to develop such trim tabs. We experienced dozens of failures on this project, but we never gave up. We tried a variety of designs with countless testing results enabling us to improve each detail. The outcome is that we have finally achieved the optimum design and the resulting product’s performance has exceeded our expectations. We are now extremely proud to introduce and release this uniquely designed product to all of our worldwide customers - the Arrow Shark Tab-X. An exclusive design of a scale-like hydraulic ram on each tab is actuated by a micro hi-torque geared-motor via a flexible drive onto a threaded shaft. The result is not only a most authentic appearance, but also a very precise and ultra-smooth control of the tab over a 10 degree range for both up and down. To avoid the micro motor becoming stuck at the limit of the ram’s movement (which is possible as the remote operation occurs with the tab out of visual range), we have incorporated a two-way micro-clutch that connects the flexible drive shaft to the motor shaft. This clutch was designed with a built-in steel ball and pressure spring as well as an adjusting Allen nut. The steel ball is fully adjustable and is set at an optimum pressure so that the motor shaft can push the steel ball up until the ram reaches its limit, then the motor can spin freely inside of the clutch. This tiny device effectively prevents both the micro-motor and the flexible shaft from being damaged at the ram’s end-limits. Another innovative aspect of the Tab-X is an optional integral turn fin that can be separately ordered. The fin is precisely cut by a CNC machine from 2mm carbon-fiber plate and has been designed to bolt directly onto the side of the Tab-X plate where it can be independently adjusted. The fin can aid not only the boat’s turning performance, but it can also improve straight-line running. It also saves space from a separately mounted fin which is especially helpful on some hulls where realistic scale appearance is important or where space is limited on the transom. The Tab-X remote control version requires a 6CH RC system with a VR rotate switch or a 3-position switch for the Tab-X position control. For those who do not wish to upgrade their current RC system, we have also developed an all-in-one waterproof manual control electronic box that can directly bolt to the stringer in your hull for easy and convenient operation. The Tab-X is CNC-constructed with a sleek surface anodized in either Jet Black or Brilliant Red to match the color of our other scale drives and engines. It comes fully assembled with a water-proof remote control device. You need to provide a 2S LiPo battery for power.
