| [Brief Description] | The WKY-33 is well recognized as the best carby for marine gas engines up to 35cc because it allows a greater airflow through the venturi by using a barrel-type throttle rather than the butterfly type of the Walbro WT-series carbies. However, its different throttle linkage is not that easy to operate, and so it has not been as widely used as its performance potential would recommend.
Now though, Arrow Shark has overcome this long-standing challenge! After months of development, testing and modifications, we can announce our exclusive design of a rotated carburetor block combined with a special CNC throttle adaptor for the WYK-33. We have made the throttle linkage much easier to install and link to your servo. As well, we have developed a modification for the WYK-33 to bring its performance to a new high; both the carburetor body and the barrel have been CNC machined to be 15.85mm in diameter with a CNC radius-entry that increases the airflow by 30%. Further still, we have reset the pop-off pressure for the incoming gas, and a straight pulse nipple has been installed on the Pro-Mod WYK-33 for connection, with the supplied yellow pulse line, to another nipple (also supplied) that you need to fit to your crankcase. This line provides the pressure pulses for pumping up the gas from your tank. Finally, we have installed another 90 degree fuel nipple on the carby for easier connection to your gas tank. This full mod Walbro WYK-33 kit will suit all brands of 26cc-35cc marine engines available in the market that has similar intake port shape as standard Zenoah marine engine, and it is suitable for both stock and modified engines. #1: Low-Speed Needle: The low speed needle of the WYK33 carburetor is hidden in the center of the carburetor barrel. You need to use a small precision flat blade screwdriver to adjust it. When adjusting the Low-Speed Needle, you need to apply Loctite#222 on the needle thread in order to hold the needle in position during engine operation. The Low-Speed Needle is set at 7 turns out from fully closed. Note: When the WYK-33 carb is installed rotated in your boat, it is not easy to adjust the low speed needle. We do pre-set the needle at its 7 turns open setting at our factory, so it's unlikely that you will need to change it. However, if you do, you will first need to either remove your engine from the boat or at least uninstall the carb from the engine. After extensive testing on our Pro-Mod WYK-33 carb, we have found that the 7 turns open setting works well on both stock and modified engines. #2: High-Speed Needle: The High-Speed Needle is set approximately 2 plus 1/2 turns open from fully closed. #3: Idle Screw: This idel screw will be take out from the carb in factory. |
