| [Brief Description] | When people talk about Surface Drive, it is commonly related to the high speed and great performance racing boats, as this specialized propulsion unit is the standard set up for those racing beasts, so, what makes the surface drive handling for the speed and performance better than other type of propulsion drives? That is because the propeller operates half in and half out of the water also call “surface-piercing propellers”, when the prop is powered by an engine, it only spins half in the water that cause less load for the engine and enable engine to deliver more RPM back to prop to make the boat run faster upon the water with less drag. And the best known manufacture for these surface drive units is the Arneson surface drive.
Blade-X steerable surface drive was inspired by Arneson Surface Drive, it was designed with Arrow Shark's forward thinking and creative ideas, and was constructed with various materials and multiple manufacturing technologies to accomplish the every single details to be perfected on Blade-X! The main body of Blade-X and the steering cylinder brackets plus the center trimming cylinder were manufactured by precisely molding technology to produce the unique appearance that couldn't be done by CNC machining, and rest of the components was completed by CNC machining with various materials such as T6 aluminum, Copper and stainless steel to ensure the rigidity and prevent from rusty for the long-lasting performance. Our exclusive design of steering system allow you to take advantage of flexibility of the flexible shaft as the connection device for the steering control rather than use a universal join. The prop-shaft was made of stainless steel and has a 1/4 inches square insert hole to accept the match size shaft straightly, and it was supported at both end by one stainless steel bearing and one graphite self-lubricating copper bush for the ultimate centralized control, this innovative directly flexible shaft steering control design improves not only the power output control, as well as the less drive maintenance. The lighter weight, quicker acceleration, higher speed and better handling makes the Blade-X will be the optimum drive option for the racing boat application as well as the scale replica version boats for display. |

I am a Hungarian scale ship modeler. I have found on the other side of the globe the quality I am happy to build into my model.This dual drive not only looks good on scale fans boats, the well-designed distance between the drive shafts therefore, the model turns excellently. No matter what water the model is on. I recommend this to the competitors !
Great looking drives, very scale appearance and good finish, a lot of thought and care must have gone into producing these drives. Fitted to 53-inch Delta Force Annihilator, needed slight height increase to transom to accommodate trim cylinder brackets. Needed some care in connecting the steering cables to servos, but a pleasant challenge and good sense of achievement when all worked smoothly. Has Omen Zenoah 300 'Big Game' engine driving through Arrow Shark gearbox. Covid restrictions mean hasn't been run yet so fun to come finding best props and tuning hull.
Drives arrived assembled, Very solid build, look like they will be a great set of drives for my 72" Fountain, Very happy with them.
