The 2020 Formula-X Outboard drive was inspired by Mercury 200 XS, it offers not only the authentic scale design blend with unique CNC mechanical technology, it also delivers ultimate power-to-weight advantage to suit variety type of RC boat's application. The main components of Formula-X are precision-engineered and manufactured with up-to-date CNC technology, it has a lustrous external finish whilst careful internal machining of any low-stress areas has removed surplus metal and reduced any unnecessary weight to reach its unmatched performance, The billet lower unit in Formula-X is machined from 6061 T6 aluminum for both rigidity and durable performance, the gears in the Formula-X use the latest compacting process in powder metallurgy that result with thicker and stronger teeth gears permitting engine up to 7HP to be used for the blistering speeds. As well the gear design allows counter-rotation should that be required. The innovative design of prop shaft barrel assembly supports by 3 ball bearings and one rubber seal plus one thrust bearing that not only holds the gears’ engagement position precisely during the operation, it also prevents both water ingress and lubrication oil leaking out. Besides the benefits that mentioned, the unique design of the stainless steel prop shaft barrel enables it to be screwed in and out for the easy removal and maintenance. Another functional design features an integral clutch system for easier launching and retrieval, although this clutch set up can be removed for more experienced racer who require the ultimate power-to-weight performance, when removed, the clutch can be easily replaced by a shaft collet. A fully adjustable bracket makes it easy to bolt the Drive to your boat's transom, and it is equally easy to manually adjust both for vertical height and prop thrust angle. This gives the unit excellent flexibility in tuning for the best possible performance of your hull. Additionally, the unique design of the adjustment bolts that determine your preferred prop angle make it easy to set them permanently. The front engine billet plate has a water-proof seal ring to keep the clutch housing dry during operation, and the exhaust outlet port is fitted with twin water pick-ups for efficient cooling of your power plant under any circumstance. The steering arms offer multiple mounting position for easy linkage set up, and the steering pivot base equips with two heavy duty bearings to minimize friction and increasing the smooth level of turning ability. The “state of art” of Formula-X outboard drive represents the Arrow Shark top line of hardware and RC marine technology, it is not only compatible with Arrow Shark marine engine series, it also easily works with about any other Zenoah type marine engine, please check the dimension picture above for the engine mounting spec detail. When matches with our X-30 Marine engine, the Formula-X Outboard Drive will give your outboard boat exceptional performance as well as making an eye-catching feature both on the water and when on display. The Executive package comes with a Mercury fashion style cowling that was constructed with carbon fiber or Kevlar super strength material by using Arrow Shark the latest vacuum infusion technology, which make the cowling extremely light, but super strong, inside the cowling was attached with a layer of silicone sheet under tuned pipe area for the extra heat-resistance from the pipe during operation, the top of the cowling has preinstalled two CNC air inlet and two CNC air outlet in its curve match shape to maximize the air flowing for the engine performance, it also equips a shiny lock in stainless steel to secure the cowling properly during operation. The power-plant of the Executive package is a X-30 Marine engine with a special design wrap around tuned pipe and a custom bent header that perfectly accommodates into the cowling with the engine, the tuned pipe outlets via the exhaust port of the Formula-X upper body that makes this set up perfectly replicating the performance attitude of full size F1 racing boat. The fresh design of pipe bracket smartly accepts both turn pipe and X-pump installation, the integrated water pump effectively allow you to idle your boat in the water whilst supply sufficient cooling for your engine. The throttle was controlled by a 15kg metal gear hi-torque servo in water-proof version with direct-linkage set up that blends into the X-30 assembly makes the acceleration and stopping more efficient than ever before, the executive version comes with a AS7818/5 propeller, this surface-piercing 5-blade pro-mod propeller is designed to maximize top-end speed out of engine and dramatically reduce slip for the boat, it effectively helps the boat increasing the performance. |
