| [Brief Description] | Our purpose in designing the Dragon Drive is to offer a high quality, sleek looking and durable outboard drive for the growing RC F1 (Formula One) gas tunnel market. Designed for realistic operation on boats such as F1 Tunnel Hulls, the Dragon Drive can be fitted with our X-30 Marine engine for outstanding performance, or alternatively just about any other 23cc-31cc Zenoah-mount-compatible type engine can be easily installed without modification.
The gears in the Dragon Drive use a compacting process in powder metallurgy and have thicker and stronger teeth that permit engines up to 7hp to be used for blistering speeds. As well, the gear design allows counter-rotation should that be required. The kit comes with a hardened drive shaft with both ends square to work with matching square receptacles on the input shaft, the clutch bell and the drive collet for easy connection to your engine. Arrow Shark's exclusive design provides an integral clutch for easier launching and retrieval. However, for experienced boaters, this can easily be removed and a direct collet drive used for even higher performance. We have included, in the standard package of the Dragon Drive, both the clutch and direct drive options because our design philosophy covers safety and ease-of-use as well as outright performance. The clutch does add weight, but testing has shown that this has negligible impact on the boat's balance, and a slight adjustment of the prop thrust angle is more than enough to compensate; nor does the clutch affect speed more than marginally. Using the clutch does make it feasible for single-handed launching of the boat which is very convenient for anyone who is operating their boat solo. Another benefit of our exclusive Drive design is for an adjustable throttle linkage system that makes this also easy to install; this linkage design works flawlessly with our rotated carb block on either WYK-33 barrel types carb or WT series carbs. The steering connection features a hardened steel pivot pin and heavy duty triple copper bushes to minimize wear that could lead to excessive vibration and possible failure of critical trim set up.
