The only way we could find to improve our highly popular offshore racing monohull Wind Rider was to make it bigger! For 2012, this sleekly styled deep vee has been scaled up to 50inches (1,270mm, excluding hardware, from 45inches last year) with a 14.7inch beam (from 12.5inches). The bigger hull was not only desirable to be even more impressive visually, but it was needed to cater for the extra power (now increased to 6.0+hp! See separately for details) of our lastest billet-built version of the Arrow Shark XP254M engine 2012 improved version.
The appealing lines of the Wind Rider remain the same with an integral midships cockpit canopy and gun'ls that flair upward either side of the aft engine hatch to blatantly hint at the power that has been packed inside the hull for you. The hint may be stylistic, but the reality exceeds expectations with the new 25.4cc billet XP254M capable of revving to 19,000+rpm!
All of the upgrades and features we provide with our Wind Rider continue for 2012 with an improved clutch that uses a CNC-machined no-spring plate for higher performance and even better reliability, a tuned pipe exhaust system, a high-flow water pump operated from crankcase pressure pulses, an adjustable Stinger drive unit, adjustable trim tabs, AS6717/3 SBP high preformance prop, As well, we have upgraded to a CNC-machined metal servo tray in the radio box which is stronger (and looks better!) than our previous wooden tray, and a fibreglass molding holds the fuel tank more securely at the high speeds and during the tight turns that these boats are capable of executing.
The previous smaller Wind Rider was already famous for its superb handling, even in rougher waters, so imagine what this new 50inch hull will do, especially with the extra power of Arrow Shark's exclusive new generation XP254M. All up though, the Wind Rider remains smooth and stable and will take care of anyone trying gas boating for the first time (just take it easy on the throttle for a while!) whilst still delivering the blistering performance demanded by experienced owners. As with its full size counterpart, the Wind Rider offers both the "bling" and the competition-dominating satisfaction of offshore racing. Tuning your Wind Rider for ultimate results in prevailing conditions adds an extra dimension of challenge and enjoyment with the adjustable Stinger and tabs plus the choice of two or three blade props. All of this is part of the package when you have an Arrow Shark Wind Rider ready to go!
