Turbine powered full size boats remain ultra-expensive but they're growing in popularity and are achieving higher speeds - now well over 320kph - every year. However, you don't need to incur the extravagant cost of a turbine engine with its accompanying complexity if you want high speed action on the water - try the Arrow Shark Tsunami Pro hydroplane instead! The 46inch (1,168mm) Tsunami Pro has a dual-stepped hull design that minimises drag and promotes higher speeds with better turning and more predictable handling. To threaten those turbines for raw power, we have upgraded the engine for 2010 to our latest hi-tech 6+hp billet-machined XP254M that revs to 19,000rpm or more! There's so much to tell about this new engine that we've included a special section on this website to describe it - find out all the great news there for yourself! Other elements of our 2010 power-boost program for the Tsunami Pro are a new Wrap-To-Flush exhaust header for a shorter tuned pipe length of around 370mm (from the exhaust flange to the middle of the tuned pipe - our previously-used Wrap-To-Centre header gave too long a tuned pipe length for the XP254M's level of power and revs), and an improved clutch featuring a CNC-machined no-spring plate for even better reliability. Other features of this superb hydro include CNC-manufactured hardware in anodised aluminium or stainless steel, a higher capacity water pump that runs off crankcase pressure pulses, a new tuned pipe exhaust that has an in-built muffler, a much stronger 15kg metal gear hi-torque servo to control the rudder, and both 2 and 3 blade props that are factory sharpened, balanced and polished for improved performance. We have strengthened the hull-deck join with a double layer of fibreglass and externally we have upgraded to the latest technology automotive paints for the high gloss colors and graphics. The result of all these upgrades and features is a hydro that runs even better than it looks, and you can be sure you'll be admiring and appreciating your own Tsunami Pro for a long time to come.
