After 8 months of extensive testing and development, we are proud to release the Arrow Shark second generation 2010 E-starter to our customers around the world.
A disadvantage of the design of our first generation E-starter (as well as for most other brands of E-starter) was the one-way bearing in the kit. This can wear out by lack of lubrication or overheating, and can require replacement once a while. Now though, we have overcome this obstacle as our new version 2010 E-starter II has been designed to use the same approach as a standard pull starter. Without needing a one-way-bearing, the gears will fully disengage as soon as your engine starts running. The result is that the E-starter has no impact on performance and will work well with either stock or modified high rev engines.
The 2010 version E-starter comes to you completely assembled, and installation is very straightforward. To fit the E-Starter to our XP254M engine, all that's required is to remove the standard pull starter and simply bolt on the E-Starter! No changes or modifications are needed. To install the E-Starter on a Zenoah engine, just replace the Zenoah pulley with the flywheel adaptor that comes with the kit, and again simply bolt on the E-starter.
The power plant of the 2010 version E-starter has been upgraded to our OEM 580 series high torque electric motor, which has more power and torque compared with 540 or 550 electric motors, to make servo-controlled onboard and on-the-water starting easier than ever. The new motor is also equipped with a better cooling system for more efficient temperatures during operation. In order to run the 580 motor properly, you will need a 14.8volt LiPo battery of 2200Mah or higher capacity, and a suitable charger for it.
